as inquisitive as students are the elementary was designed with the intent of connecting the user to the environment thus the significance of its concept being sensory was highly driven. the building encompasses a one-story 100,000 square-foot building with a central axis where administration and collaborative spaces are held. by dividing up the classroom wings organically it allowed for a plethora of outdoor courtyards to be easily accessible to the students. therefore maximizing the amount of exterior connections to nature to resonate throughout the building furthermore creating a tactile environment conducive for learning.
The exterior of the building is a mixture of glass, masonry and metal façade with structural concrete tilt-up wall panel backup. Roofs will be a combination of sloped standing seam and low slope membrane roofing.
